  1. With the new sanctions china is fearing falling behind again. I think that makes xi's decision to invade taiwan a high possibility.

  2. The key takeaway was the induction of Lucent which stunted the growth of native Chinese tech endeavour from mid sixties to late seventies…..huachong inability to absorb advanced foreign tech is understandable….. Their original thesis of working and learning natively for 13 years would've ensured local advancement without foreign help

  3. How china built a semiconductor industry? By using foreign knowledge and existing technologies of course, like they always do. But they´re good at cheap mass production. Gotta give them that

  5. Huang an Xie wanting to return to China in the 50's. Biting the hand that feeds you.. They should have been imprisoned as spies.

  6. China wants to capture Taiwan to gain access to Taiwanese engineers and the golden goose of bleeding edge semicondutor technology: TSMC. The US is giving TSMC billions of dollars of incentives to bulid a semiconductor facility in Arizona as a contingency plan if China takes over TSMC.

  7. Yes, China benefited from the global advances in chips technology. But which country didn't? Akso, many Chinese were involved in developments in the semiconductor industry and technology. Even today, many Chinese are leading figures in many US semiconductor companies.

  8. Please, can you make a video showing the progress of Photonic Chips? I remember seeing some news in the past implying China is ahead of other in that field.

  9. Try to take care of your health, mate. After survival, it's the second-most important thing in anyone's life. We hope that you're fine. That aside, great documentary, as per usual!

  10. Two thing's; you sound like hell and in need of 48 hours of sleep, and the second, "building their semiconductor industry" is a funny way to describe "wholesale theft of Western tech and research"

  11. Excellent video, Asianometry. very informative & historical. Keep up the good work.

After reading these comments here, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary in regards to your tone of voice and your speech compared to your other youtube videos. Why are so many people here commenting as if you're depressed or something. Lol. What non-sense.

Anyhow, I was searching for taiwanese street snacks from Tainan. But what happens next is that China putting the final nails in the coffin for…., you know who.
