Tsunami in Japan!! Skyscrapers collapse, people scatter
A tsunami as high as 1 meter is expected to arrive or has already arrived in some coastal areas on the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku, public broadcaster NHK reported.
“A tsunami is likely to occur repeatedly. Please do not enter the sea or approach the coast until the warning is lifted,” the Japan Meteorological Agency told X.

The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 triggered waves of around 1 metre along parts of the Sea of Japan coast. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued tsunami warnings for the coastal prefectures of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama.
Images carried by local media showed a building collapsing in a plume of dust in the coastal city of Suzu and a huge crack in a road in Wajima. A 6.2 magnitude aftershock at a depth of 10 kilometers struck at 4:18 p.m. local time.
