How to live in a collapsing economy
Everyone basically knows the economy is broken. The question is less and less how do we fix it, but how do we get through it.

Brilliant speech Gary – so compelling – thank you.
I've been asking these questions all my life and I've reached the conclusion that government and companies will not fix this, but there is a solution. These cycles of growing inequality repeat over and over throughout history. As humans we create systems that have rules but greed motivates people to want more than they have even once they have more than enough, and then change the rules to rig the game in their favor. Our current system is rigged in favor of those with assets and we don't all start the game with the same amount of assets so very few overcome those odds like Gary. Our egos tell us that if we are financially successful that we earned it and deserve to keep it and we assume that those who have less must not have worked as hard or been as smart and so deserve less. So if all of us continuously want more and more and never see a reason to share with our friends or family or community then why would we expect our government or companies to fix it? The only antidote from my point of view is each person choosing empathy and duty for others over our egos. I'm now a middle-aged man and its taken me a long time to grow my financial net-worth so I understand the dilemma well – do I just keep growing what I have or do I share with those I know who have less? What am I willing to give in order to try to fix the path that we're on? The solution is to revive the concept that all of us, and especially those who have achieved much in life, there is a duty to help others ('noblesse oblige').
An incredible talk – emotional and inspiring. As Tarrou says in The Plague: "on this Earth there are pestilences and there are victims – and as far as possible one must refuse to be on the side of the pestilence." You have made that choice, and you are fighting the good fight. An incredible story.
Also, in The Plague, Rieux tells us "the only way to fight the plague is with decency" – but what is decency? Rieux knows: "in my case I know that it consists in doing my job." It is clear that you have found that job – rest well – and know that you are breaking through!
I thank Gary and this channel for pulling me out of the right wing echo chambers and back into reality. When the world feels so dark we try to find a message and reason, something or someone to blame. Our anger is easily misguided and redirected. Gary shines the light onto the beast that lurks in the shadows.
From Ilford boy to Dagenham Girl..
You know how the system works from both sides of the coin, that’s what inspires you..
But unfortunately money is the root of all evil, it’s addictive and makes a person self centred, and the people at the top wanna hold it close, and keep it tight, with the insiders warnings.
Remember people who hit rock bottom, from the result of financial issues, losing a family member, addiction or mental health, Some people do not possess
Survival instincts it’s not a quality that everyone holds, the same as morals, standards compassion and understanding..
You will be pleased to know you have these attribute’s, which can not be mastered at university or city bank, it’s called life skills, street smarts..
Keep up the good fight, the working and middle class people are listening.
Ilford is a sh*thole but it’s home. I felt that. Small world Gary, i know your experience very well. Refreshing to see you as a content creator telling our story 🙏
日本語喋れるって知らなかった。日本語吹き替えを動画に付けたら人気になるかも?😊
Thank you for all you are doing, what you have done and what you will do Gary. You are a very special human. You are making a difference!
I believe we are the same age… Oh how I wish we went to the same school!
I don’t use any social media, I don’t have the YouTube app. But maybe once a week or so I go onto YouTube to see if you have posted a video. It is well worth it.
Big love
come to Boston! Please
Why Japan??
You're a good man Gary. Go well.
love this but the title of the video said how to live in a collapsing economy, which wasn't covered
All of these videos are kind of dumb. This isn't some big secret, read various books. He's making videos telling us what we already know.
Gaz well done m8 go do what you need to do I know as traders we need a break thanks again mate I can’t wait for when you come back and safe journey inshallah
I think we will be ok, maybe it is them who will suffer most. Best wishes Gary x
Is this Leftie millionaire still droning on? It's gone waaaay beyond economics now, Gary. Although it appears that your socialist dream is now a genuine possibility.
We can see what the easing of economic policy will do for the poor if we follow the proposed economic plan by Harris for the USA!
This will add about $1.4 trillion to the debt! One proposal is increasing the tax on people making over $400,000 per year? Let’s see if she’s elected?
You buy Bitcoin and chill
Have a well deserved break don’t worry about having a break your creativity deserves this .
G’wan Gary! G’wan!
I get goosebumps every time I listen to you. If you, having such an exposure to how corrupt and greed stricken we are as humans, can be depressed, imagine how I feel, living in one of the world’s poorest nations.
You’ve giving me a new perspective on the meaning of life itself. I’m grateful
I got a lot out of listening to your talk. Brilliant
Great video brother, I saw it when it was posted. Always wondered why you didn’t share/re-post it on your main channel. I’m a trader myself, and once certain global events happened I also thought why am I doing this when people are dying on the other side. I didn’t kill them, but I am profiting off the war. Did I really feel bad? Was I really ashamed? I don’t know, but it was one of my best years with over 6 figures in profit. My pnl has come down this year, and I’ve developed more of a conscious I think, but I’m not really happy. I want to be back in the game. I guess it is like what you mentioned in your book with those that can’t seem to leave. I’m pursuing an MBA in order to get a job in finance, but I fear I may lose myself or the little part of myself I still have pursuing this career.
Have a safe trip in Japan.
Have you seen the old man
In a closed-down market?
Kicking up the paper
With his worn out shoes
In his eyes, you see no pride
And held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper
Telling yesterday's news
So, how can you tell me you're lonely?
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand
And lead you through the streets of London
Show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London?
Dirt in her hair
And her clothes in rags
She's no time for talking
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home
In two carrier bags
So, how can you tell me you're lonely?
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand
And lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind
In the all night café
At a quarter past eleven
Same old man
Sitting there on his own
Looking at the world
Over the rim of his teacup
Each tea lasts an hour
And he wanders home alone
So, how can you tell me you're lonely?
Don't say for you that the sun don't shine
Let me take you by the hand
And lead you through the streets of London
Show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old man
Outside the seaman's mission?
Memory fading with
The medal ribbons that he wears
In our winter city
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn't care
So, how can you tell me you're lonely?
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand
And lead you through the streets of London
Show you something to make you change your mind

Will a civil war be coming to England ? .If so what will it do the markets ? .
This isn’t just a lecture, it’s an incitement to revolution.
Please Gary never stop what you're doing !
Having someone with your background in this position is very rare.
Share & Educate. Thank you so much, you give me hope
Salute brother. Truly moving and purely needed. Great story g
I hope you have/will find some healing to your heart in your break in Japan. Thank you for sharing this wonderful lecture – it’s brutal but has actually made me feel a little less alone in the world. Sometimes I wonder why more people don’t see the world like this – why the greed, lies and corruption continues to eat away at society and how and why so little is said or done to halt it or reverse it. And then I also become disillusioned and depressed the more I see – the more I see the more exhausted I get and as I watch more people choosing not to see or care I wonder if that might be an easier way to exist. But then I watch a video by someone like you who has been fighting and doing so well but looks so defeated and it gives me the resolve to stay strong for those who can’t do that right now but want to …. and I hope that so many of the comments on here show you that you are not alone & you also don’t have to take on the fight alone but I also hope it reminded you to take care of yourself and your heart – even the most dedicated, skilled and fearsome warrior can’t fight their best fight if they don’t take care of themselves ❤️
