Hello everyone, and welcome to yet another Skytrax 5 Star Airline: All Nippon Airways!
We’re flying today on their Boeing 787-9 from Haneda to Delhi.
According to Skytrax “the world’s 4th best airline in 2024”.
Yeah, I can tell you already that I disagree.. While ANA stands for quality and “Inspiration of Japan”, and I truly enjoy the airline on my trips to Japan, it failed to meet my expectations on this particular journey to India, as well as what was that of many around me.
India is the country with most vegetarians and Hindus in the world.
So what is the point of serving beef on such a flight? Or not to have any movie of what is world’s biggest cinema producer?
Airlines all over the world are battling it out to attract as many South Asian customers as possible. And many will offer an adapted service to meet all needs and requirements, except for what I saw on ANA!
So, while ANA has a lot of strengths, and offers a true Japanese service, it also has a big amount of shortfalls.

7:15 ANA refused my treats as well but politely. It is probably a policy/culture thing but they could’ve done so politely.
Yikes not having an option to have vegetarian food and serving Beef on a flight to India is a "big no" and they call themselves a 5-star airline. Imagine paying between 900-1800$ in economy class and you have to stay hungry just because you are vegetarian. Every other airline would have atleast one veggie option on flights that dont even fly to India. Why do they have to be so racist towards Indians. I have noticed most western airlines such as British Airways, Air France,Lufthansa's flight crew to be also rude when they operate flights to India. I get it that some times people sometimes dont follow things that they are intended to, but that doesn't mean they have a right to be rude on flights bound in/out of India.
Even though I would say Qatar and JAL have a better 787, this is still very good!
7:53 – I even see JAL do this with their 787’s too. Not sure why.

I've never really heard any negativity about ANA and you're always positive in your reviews, so I am inclined to think that on this particular flight, on this particular day, to that particular destination, ANA just didn't give its best performance. Overall, your review came off like you were offended by the return of the chocolates, so you started looking for things on which to report negatively.
Little tough there on ANA, pal. I've been to Japan several times and ANA beats US airlines on quality of in flight crew alone. Newer planes, better equipped. Superior catering.

How rude!
I was one of those who requested ANA, compared to other reviews from western routes they are perfect. But this one was too personal to Indians! Bad.
Sapporo and Kirin Ichiban are my favourite Japanese beers. It is a rule of Japanese aviation to add the registration number on the wings as it provides a better view for the ground staff as well as the atc.
I wish airlines don't provide a beef dish if they go to India, and I also wish they provided a veg meal. Btw, I do enjoy this trip report, but will you fly the JAL A350 to New York?

I can suggest if travel to Lisbon Portugal 🇵🇹 on Emirates stay in Lisbon for couple of days and travel on Tap Air Portugal to the USA either New York City Miami or Boston MA

Fantastic video! I find ANA's cabin quite disappointing compared to JAL. Their seats are less wide and the screens look very small and old for a plane built in 2016. Calling that food item 'naan' is insulting to Indian culture. 24:10, thank you for showing the city close to my home, Lucknow. I wish you come here some day. As a foodie you will really like the Awadhi cuisine there (you can get way better naan there). The lack of vegetarian food options for a flight to India is intolerable. I know someone who had to survive on fruits and juice on this entire 7+ hr flight. What are we getting for the next video?

I also flew this route last year and their service especially from Tokyo to Delhi was really good and there food was mind blowing and what really surprised me was that they serve metal cutlery
They even gave us lots of snacks
Although the Indian content on the ife was very limited but still the ife has enough things to keep us occupied for 8 hours
The sign in the toilet is not at all a problem because some people can be a little dumb or stupid
These signs are also present on air india
Overall it was a good experience flying with them

You are the one to be careful with your rude attitude against Flight Cabin Crews on your videos. Cabin Crews are there to assure flight safety and to provide cabin service to the passengers, which an airline like ANA does very good. Cabin crews are not hungry waiting for someone like you to drop them candies, cabin crews are not there to deal with your arrogance on giving them treats they didn'r ask you for and that they don't need. Finally this crew teached you the right lesson, too pity I wasn't sitting next to you to see your face as it occured. And I can imagine how many of your treats worldwide were thrown away as you suggested, because neither crews nor ground staffs are interested on them.

17:39, You mean East China sea? What date did you film, is your flight to Delhi 90% full, I know it's expensive, but do you remember how much you pay to fly ANA to Delhi, how's immigration, did you pre order taxi or uber or bolt and your trip ?

In July of 2019, I flew ANA, Boeing 767-300ER from Ho Chi Minh to Tokyo for the 1st time, flight is good.
But in June to August of 2022, I flew Japan airlines, Boeing 767-300ER and Boeing 787-8 and 9 from Honolulu to Manila return for the 1st time all flights is good and okay and I like the 2-4-2 configuration in economy class because the seat is wider and it's better than ANA.
I would like to fly ANA 1 day next year, I rather fly Japan airlines because of the 2-4-2 configuration in economy class and the seat is wider.
ANa is great, JAL is even better but both are expensive compared to Western or Middle Eastern airlines. And Japan always boards from window to window. Combined with Japanee discipline boarding famously happens in light speed. While in Europe and mostly also the Middle East boarding and especially deboarding sometimes took me until an hour!
Better fly Air India to and from Tokyo for an excellent sevice, delicious food and nice warmth….
The note is very necessary especially for Indians

If beef and such signs were put up by a South East Asian, Middle Eastern or a European Airline, there would have been calls for boycott all over the country. Even government would have created an amazing fuss over it, DGCA should come up with strict regulations and treat every airline equally. Now I got to know why ANA is still avoiding GCC countries. Highly disappointed😞😞
I wanted to fly one day with them on the BOM – NRT route but now I've changed my mind. It's better to fly through SIN, BKK, KUL or HKG. Totally unprofessional!

I believe the flight control check and selecting flaps after commencing taxi is standard ANA procedure. There are several very old ANA cockpit videos (just search ANA Blue on Blue on youtube), and they actually do that in those videos. I believe it's to shorten their ground time just a little bit.
Idea: in your videos add chapters so people can more easily navigate through your video! Like add timestamps in description for like boarding, takeoff, IFE, etc! Just an idea, amazing video as always! ✈️🇯🇵🇮🇳

Hi TLA, I love your excellent review, very detail! As for the snackbox you got, I did check the menu on JAL on the same route and it was more or less the same, just a sandwich and some small goodies, so I think the route isn't long enough for full meal. Great review overall👍

Thanks for the video, Alex. You rarely complain about the food and when you do, that means it is really bad. Regarding the aircraft identification, I think the Japanese Nationality and Marking regulations require the top of the wing to be marked.
