Senior Japanese officials are demanding a full explanation of the recent stabbing death of a Japanese boy in southern China, and are asking their Chinese counterparts to deal with “untruthful and malicious” internet posts targeting Japan. Bloomberg’s Jon Herskovitz explains the latest developments on ‘Bloomberg: The Asia Trade’.

  1. Japanese people have been programmed to hate china ar thia moment. The US is working with Japan to blockade China from doing international trade. But yeah China is the problem

  2. While I have no doubt there's some xenophobia present in China, to have the criticism come from Japan of all places. A society notorious for being insular and having secret organizations only open to native Japanese. It's quite laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

  3. In 1995, the Jiang Zemin administration began anti-Japanese education and anti-Japanese movements, and 50 years after the end of the war, he began anti-Japanese education. There was no such anti-Japanese education during the time of Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai, the founders of Communist China. One of the reasons for this is that Jiang Zemin's father, Jiang Shijun, worked for the spy agency of the Nanjing government led by Wang Zhaoming, which was a Japanese puppet government (during the era of the Japanese Empire), which is well known outside of mainland China. It's a fact. In other words, Jiang Zemin's biological father was a traitor(漢奸), and it is said that he started an anti-Japanese movement to hide this fact.

  4. Nobody – in China, or anywhere else – is saying this stabbing is justified. On the contrary – what happened is absolutely horrible and that boy of course never deserved this. HOWEVER, at the same time, no one can say they did not see isolated incidents like this happening from time to time when the Japanese government repeatedly fails to properly atone for its horrific war crimes. China and Korea will never forget or forgive Japan as long as Japan remains cowardly about its recent, despicable past.

  5. What the Chinese Communist Party wants from Japan is an immediate apology money. Politics has been corrupted by its own strong-arm politics, and hospitals, banks, police, and the media are riddled with bribes and in a dilemma over fairness. The real estate bubble burst, but the banks all went bankrupt because illegal fraudulent ponzi schemes were commonplace in the West and Japan throughout the country. Unless the country is democratized, recovery from bad loans will be impossible. Foreign companies and investors knew this and pulled out. Salaries are no longer paid to public servants, and the employment rate for new graduates has dropped below 50%. The folly continues. When the country is in danger, anti-Japanese education has finally borne fruit, with the people beating Japan like fools and attacking the weak and children. All foreigners know that they are using Japan as a scapegoat. They have no regard for themselves and have no self-control no shame.

  6. The Chinese saying they'll never forgive in the comments section don't have this much motivation to pay for their own war crimes in vietnam and taiwan. Hypocrites

    Nothing justifies killing kids

  7. While I condemn the murder of the innocent schoolboy, this incident has been politicized way overboard. Back then when there was a massacre of Asians, mostly women by a white gunman and proven to be a racial hate crime…it was passed off as any ordinary crime. To be fair, if Japan wants to lower its anti-Japanese sentiment in China…the ball is with the Japanese government. Formally apologize for your WWII atrocities, do not revise history in your textbooks and the worship in Yasukuni Shrine should exclude war criminals. Imagine if Germany worship Hitler and Nazis, how would Israel and the Jews feel about this.

  8. As a Korean, hardly we see same values in common with China nowadays. Fundamentally Japan and Korea we have democratic government, freedom of speech and expression. China does not. China now put herself in isolation unless they change their system

  9. 自国の歴史を正しく教えられない中国人に同情する。中国を出ないと本当の歴史を学べないなんて・・・中国の国民は国の為政者に飼い慣らされているのに気づかないのか?

  10. The Japanese need to leave China. It will only increase in Social Instability and/or extreme Nationalism. Wait for things to settle down. Social conflict is unfamiliar to the harmonious Japanese.

  11. The Japanese are obviously over-reacting to this isolated case. May be they are too self-conscious of the atrocities they had inflicted in China when they invaded China, starting in 1931 and in full scale 1937. Some 20 millions Chinese soldiers and innocent civilians were killed brutally by the Japanese imperial soldiers within eight years; tens of thousands of women raped, gang raped, tortured and with their wombs sliced open. I had seen a Nanking Massacre photo taken in 1937 depicting a child being flung up the sky and one Japanese soldier used the bonnet mounted onto his gun to poke through the falling child's stomach with other Japanese soldiers watching it laughing. After losing the war in China and the Pacific, the Japanese are not remorseful at all. The Japanese ministers still go to the Yasukuni Shrine (靖國神社) regularly to pray to the war criminals who had been sentenced to death and hung or shot dead after WWII. After 86 years, even the Nanking City residents are slowly letting the by-gone be by-gone. One hardly had heard of any Japanese man or woman murdered in China after the War till today. Should there be any hatred towards the Japanese, the Japanese should be largely, if not solely responsible for it. Period.

  12. The Chinese will forever bear a grudge against Japan and hate the Japanese for the history of 90 years ago.Because of the education their government promotes.

And the Chinese will forever remain silent about their government's modern-day invasion of the South China Sea in disregard of international law, and the genocide and oppression in Tibet and Uyghur.Because of the education their government promotes.

  13. During World War II, it was the national party led by 蔣介石 that fought against the Japanese, while the Communists led by Mao Zedong didn't fight against the Japanese, but ran away and tried to weaken the national party from the side When Japan lost, they started to chase the weakened national party led by 蔣介石 and couldn't help but to let 蔣介石 flee to Taiwan and then they unified China China has a history of wars like Qing, Zong and Yuan, the common people are used to war, so when the Japanese army came, they were like what's wrong with that! But as for Mao, after the fled, he started hunting the and property owners to take advantage of it, but he had to justify what he did, so he also started hunting the national party and property owners (this is hunting civilians), and he also started hunting the Japanese. But he had to justify what he did, so he combined his own hunting of the natinonal party and hunting of property owners (these were civilian hunts), and he claimed that he had been beaten up by the Japanese.

  14. weird isnt it that when hate crime is committed in america it is always a lone weirdo with mental problems and nothing to do with the loving society that is usa. but when a lone weirdo commits a crime in china, the entire country and chinese race is blamed including their ancestors lol. What rubbish. The propaganda sht is really incredible. NOt from china nor a supporter but boy when you see what comes out of western media and public's mouths you know most of it is sht because you can smell the racism.

  15. Japan has a history of hiring assasins to kill it's citizens in China to create excuses for invasion. I highly doubt the true identity and motivation of that so-called "murderer". Japan is too weak militarily compared to China these days, yet it has no problem playing its old trick to spread anti-China hate.

  16. For those who feel that the current Japanese government has done enough, I just want to ask one question: Have you ever seen even one Japanese Prime Minister kneel in front of even one Holocaust memorial like the German Chancellor once did? They have not done that. Instead, they kneel in front of the Yasukuni Shrine every year, which is equivalent to the Germans going to mourn Hitler every year. What do you think this means? ? ?

  17. 2017 two Chinese girls were murdered in Japan.
    2020 Japanese attacked Chinese tourist
2022 another two Chinese sisters were killed
2023 another Chinese tourist was robbed and killed
2024 17 years teenager was killed by China hater
Did Japan ask Japanese stop killing Chinese and protect Chinese????
