  1. not really true, I do the carry trade and I know many who do. it's still profitable as hell. most of us are doing this since years. I started my carry trade positions when 1 usd was 100 yen so I am up insanely from the yen collapsing to around 140 now. I pay 1,5% interest for that at my broker and gain around 6% in dividends and interest from it. it would take a crazy amount of interest rate raises to make it unprofitable. Japan can't afford that.
