In a stunning update, Japan and South Korea just joined China to give a coordinated response to Trump’s trade war. This is a strategic pivot to Beijing in a time when Asian economies are facing a trade collapse with the U.S. This changes everything.

  1. China, Japan & South Korea are taking an initial step of coordination for common interest. This is positive of course, but I would not expect a united front to persist unless there was a complete overhaul of the cultural and political relations between 3 nations.

  2. If Japan and S Korea's citizens were to unite and boycott US goods and services then it may have some weight and effect. As for China, you can well tell most of them will not buy US goods or services – partly due to their current economic doldrums as well as for nationalistic purposes.

  3. USA lost Asia (not only East Asia but ASEAN and South Asia as well). Japan should negotiate with China about Taiwan already. The US has become a leecher, they want to have the cake and eat it too. They want the Japanese to work hard for Americans to get rich.

  4. Not just Japan n South Korea. IMO, all countries slapped with Trump's reciprocal tariffs should band together, forming new trade relationships n alliances, while excluding the US. After all, the almighty POTUS have repeatedly said "We don't need anything from other countries. Other countries are nasty, have treated 'kind' US badly for a long time…" Let's see 'Murica the Great reshore all industries back to their own country 😂. I want to know how long they'll last before begging Beijing to sell critical rare earth minerals to them, or begging Ont to supply them with electricity, and buy their whiskeys, bourbons n agricultural products again. Such arrogance from a fast declining former hegemon 🙄. Remember, when USA slide into (Trump) recession, your acronym is U Stand Alone !!

  5. Japan and South Korea are hoping that Trump will 'wake up', and to realise that he is pushing Japan and South Korea into China’s arm, just like how Biden apparently had pushed Russia into China’s arm, for which Trump had condemned Biden for, calling it stupid and that, he (Trump) will ' un – unite' Russia and China. Let's see if Trump will wake up, because Japan and South Korea don't really want China to succeed and are extremely jealous of China. They are hoping Trump will be frightened by this new China-Japan-S Korea business alliance and get back to status quo

  6. China.. has to do…nothing… but sit and wait, and be patient. They have long good history of this.
    "What goes around comes around"
"The world is round and the ox is slow"… U.S is slowly driving everyone away…

as an Australian.. i will not buy from U.S now on principl for anything under any circumstance, i would rather do without if it comes to this. . Before it was just exorbitant shipping costs…

Fortunately, U.S "make" nothing either…. that i cant buy elsewhere…

These tarriffs alienate all their former friends and allies… this is going to become far more interesting a story in the future…than not..

  7. Trump is not the enemy. The real enemy is G7 collective strength. With Trump as a catalyst, the world at large can destroy G7 especially Japan. China should stand aside and let Trump destroy G7. China and Russia should work to protect BRICS members only.

  8. One matter not mentioned by Sean. During the Nixon/Kissinger years, trade deficits started to show its head. Instead of trying to reduce it, Kissinger advocated increasing as much as possible. The purpose was to buy in Usd and entrench the use of the green as a world currency. That has been achieved.

  9. If Taiwan does a strategic pivot as well and makes binding agreements with China (short of reunification), it will cause a regional geopolitical earthquake. Just a thought, mind you.

  10. I feel like the more l learn about country's low income,

The more my anger grows,"imagine investing $3,500 and receiving $17,800 profits in 5 days, 😇 Thanks you for the lady you recommended here sometime ago is the best 🇺🇲

  11. The US has a 1.2 trillion dollar trade deficit. Our friends and allies charge us ridiculous tariff to do business in their countries and cry like women when we do the same? Suck it up buttercup.

  12. T comment "not worried about anything" reminds me of when B Gates dismissed the future of Internet. BRICS+ is the future. The dollar is done.

  13. damn asia united against the west, strange tines we living in I guess its only going to be 3 super powers in the 3 corners of the world all fighting for power to be the super duber power of the world 1 world government

  14. Japan's current situation is exactly because of the US forcing them to sign the Plaza Accord thus stagnating their economy. And now the same country is putting tarrifs and I wonder would the Japanese continue foolishly letting the US do whatever they please from this point onwards?
