Why is CNN not reporting that the EU, Japan and 49 other countries have come forward wanting to negotiate the tariffs? It seemed to be important enough for other credible media to report this. We shouldn't have to go to other news sources to lean about this. It's embarrassing!
Tariffs will raise the price of components and completed commodities utilized in US manufacturing. Inflation will rise sharply and immediately as a result. The Fed will have to raise interest rates in order to combat inflation, which will benefit billionaires but may deprive the middle class. Because inflation is so severe, people are actually taking out loans to pay for necessities. Yes, the collapse has started.
After WW2 , the economies of most countries in the world were in shambles. The US needed trading partners who could pay for US goods. That's the reason for the favorable tariff rates. The world recovered from the war many decades ago, but still the US acted as if it needed to prop up the global economy. It's long since time to stop the nonsense. Nations that put tariffs on our goods should have tariffs placed on their imports into the US. The free ride is over.
Fareed's analysis ignores one critical thing: the US cannot continue as we have been doing. Our debt payments will soon exceed the federal budget. We're going broke. A return to the Democratic tax and spend economic paradigm is a disaster. We can't go back. The die has been cast.

So tell me why all these countries run huge trade surpluses? This guy is an idiot. The US trade and budget deficits are unsustainable as are our foreign aid and defense give aways. Yes, on average super rich in the US are doing well, Wall Street and the Banksters were doing well. This guy is a traitor. Why is China fighting back with tariffs of their own?
