LIVE: Hindenburg Accuses SEBI Chief of Adani Ties; Political Storm Erupts | Vantage with Palki Sharma

US short-seller Hindenburg Research’s latest report involving SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and the Adani Group has stirred controversy. The report accused Buch and her husband of having a share in an offshore fund in Mauritius connected to the Adani family. Hindenburg alleged that this fund was set up by an Adani director and used by Gautam Adani’s brother for investment in Indian markets to manipulate stock prices. This report comes 18 months after Hindenburg Research accused the Adani group of “brazen stock market manipulation” and “accounting fraud”. Hindenburg Research now claims that the SEBI chief’s “conflict of interest” hindered a thorough examination of allegations of manipulation and fraud at the Adani Group. Buch denied the allegations, saying the investment was made in a personal capacity, but the report has sparked a political storm. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma brings you the full story.

  1. I don't trust all these numbers because entire MSM is against President TrumpI They can run any propaganda without any consequences.

  2. The anti-India toolkits are quite active and this time they want to show the regulator SEBI in poor light. If the regulators in the USA were really good, how come big companies like ENRON, PWC, Kmart, Adelphia communications and many many banks have failed in the last few years ?

  3. Hey Palki Sharma bad news for you….with the ouster of your friend Hasina Wajid, their is news of Pakistan-Bangladesh military exercises to be conducted in the near future and the possible sale of Al-Khalid tanks to Bangladesh Army….must be worry some for india 🙂

  4. What is a Scandal by a Businessman called in Different countries? : Scam : Scandal : Betrug : Arnaque : Deep State Conspiracy, Soros Plan, Jealous of growth story, Attack on wealth creators.

  5. Hindenburg is a short-selling research firm, who make money if the value of the stocks they target declines after their reports are published. Their profit comes from short-selling these stocks, which involves borrowing shares to sell them at a higher price with the intention of buying them back later at a lower price. But this time India remains unaffected by their report. Politics is national sports of India, so we have made a football out of Hindenburg report and all parties are playing friendly matches.

  6. Who say whats is fake news and not. we saw people from goverment at the corona pandemy there was no problem to take the vaccine. and some people was against it, they where spredding "fake news". but now it show people get sickness and post corona vaccine problem. So shall the goverment get banned and jailed to spred false info? or is it just the people that can spred fake news?

  7. Too poor and biased coverage of Olympics performance. Sounded sour. Did not address the availability of facilities for the over repeated 1.4 billion population. Your friends in the opposition will complain about money spent on sports. Will you beat the drums if India spent similar sums on sports development and not talk of other opportunities missed because the money was not available?

  8. FYI Ma'am, the investigation on Adani was done by a Supreme Court monitored SEBI Team that eventually gave a clean chit to Adani. That's precisely why the stock market remained unfazed after the bogus allegations on SEBI Chief by Hindenburg.
Shocked to see you report so inaccurately on such an important issue.

  9. Hey Palki Sharma, incase you have missed it……DAWN 13/8…..The Foreign Office ,PAKISTAN, said on Tuesday that Pakistan was “gravely concerned” at “recurring incidents of theft and illicit sale” of nuclear and other radioactive materials in India, criticising the country for its ongoing safety and security lapses !!??

  10. Trump is struggling 😂🤣😂 stop listening to the 🤥 American MSM, Kamala is a joke!!!
The Democrats are trying to rig the election again like in 2020!!! Open your eyes Firstpost!!!

  11. Where are all people and celebreties who update status / say 'All eyes on…' …Dont know why since ages , nobody in the world bothers if HIndus are attacked or killed …Everybody in the world turns a smart blind eye when it comes to HIndu goenocide !!…Is this a punishment for being most accepting and harmonious set of people who blend well , doing their duty and co-exisintg.?.. This is so sickening and scary .

  12. As of August 14, 2024, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has not publicly released any conclusive findings on its investigation into the 13 offshore entities tied to the Adani Group.

    Background

SEBI initiated an investigation into these entities following the Hindenburg Research report in January 2023, which alleged that they were used to manipulate Adani Group stock prices.
In May 2023, SEBI informed the Supreme Court that it had "drawn a blank" in its attempts to identify the ultimate beneficial owners of these entities.
The investigation has been ongoing since then, and SEBI has faced criticism for its perceived lack of progress and transparency.
Recent allegations by Hindenburg Research further complicate the matter, claiming that SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband had investments in offshore funds linked to the Adani Group, potentially creating a conflict of interest.
    Current Status

SEBI has not officially commented on the Hindenburg allegations or provided any updates on its investigation into the 13 offshore entities.
The Supreme Court-appointed expert committee is also examining the matter and is expected to submit its report soon.

  13. Hindenburg Research looks more like a fly-by-night, bogus company run by an unscrupulous creep who does not do any real research about companies or their stocks. His reports read more like rambling political rants and wild accusations against billionaires and their behemoth multinational corporations – mostly a lot of wack by a deranged activist. Read any report or anything he writes, you'll conclude right away, he's a wack job.

In his first report against the Adani Group published in January 2023, all wild, fabricated, allegations in it, have been proven false and malicious.

SEBI has accused Hindenburg that it colluded with a US asset manager to use non-public information to set up a short bet against Adani Group last year, which if proven would breach the country’s rules.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has served a 46-page show-cause notice to Hindenburg.

    21 days’ time

SEBI has given Hindenburg 21 days to respond to its allegations.

A show-cause notice is often a precursor to formal legal action that may include imposing financial penalties and barring participation in the Indian capital market. SEBI can also seek government help to geoblock the research firm's website.
