Japan reselling Australian gas? | Yasmine Wright Gittins

Japan is reselling Australian LNG for a profit. At the same time, according to Australia Institute research, in the last four years alone, Australians have given away the gas that made $149 billion worth of LNG, for free.

So when politicians call for more gas in Australia, who do they think will benefit?

Yasmine Wright Gittins, Anne Kantor Fellow, breaks it down. #auspol #climate

  1. If we keep voting in the same corrupt governments, the same corrupt politicians, nothing will change. if the Labour Party and the LNP were to start taxing the foreign owned multinational gas corporations, like Norway does at 70%. Which has made NORWAY a very rich country and the Norwegian people benefit from the tax. For the last 4 years the gas corporations made 149 Billion dollars from our gas, we get virtually nothing, Australia could have made 104.3 Billion dollars in tax,
the government would then have enough money to FUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS and fix our HEALTHCARE SYSTEM and BUILD HOUSES, and on top of that we now have to buy back our Gas at exorbitant prices, we can change the political landscape by not voting for Labour and the LNP. Vote for the independents.

  2. When will Australians wake up? When interest rates come down? When inflation is palatable to the Elite? When jobs become scarce? When Medicare becomes insolvent? etc.
Nationalising non-renewable assets would bring profit back to the Australian People & international corporations would come back begging! See Russia, Norway for inspiration!

  3. I was on the Wheatstone LNG Project for 3 years and totally agree with you. Chevron don't have to pay tax for the first 20 years. These traitors and criminals in government have to be jailed for Treason.

  4. This situation would end if journalists were raising this issue in interviews. The ABC is especially bad. Hopefully Kim Williams will take a scalpel to the malignant tumours: Speers, Karvelas, Kelly etc. They fight much harder for high end tax cuts than sticking up for their audience.

  5. Its quite incredible to see what we have become .. its not foreign companies and corporations that we should blame.. but rotten australians that are selling the nation from under us for a cut …
