LIVE: US Recession Fears Trigger Major Wall Street Sell-off | Vantage with Palki Sharma

US investors triggered a major selloff on Wall Street on Thursday (August 1) amid fears of a recession. Two of the biggest US stock market indexes—the Dow Jones and S&P 500—dropped by 1.2% and 1.3%, respectively. Distress in the job market, slow manufacturing, and a declining stock market led to this significant selloff. According to data, an increasing number of Americans are opting for unemployment benefits. Also, fewer jobs are being created as compared to before. There is even a slowdown in the manufacturing sector, which has led to hiring freezes in several factories and companies. High interest rates could be one of the major reasons behind the manufacturing slowdown. As a result, investors are shifting their focus from stocks to bonds. These trends hint at the possibility of a recession. Palki Sharma tells you more.

  1. So where that USA ex president trump stands trial for paying a porn star to shut up about a legal consensual sex encounter and a child rapist gets to compete in the Olympics.

  2. I totally understand the anxiety. I’ve been shifting my focus to more stable investments like bonds and some dividend-paying stocks. They’re not as high risk as growth stocks, but they offer some security in these turbulent times. Anyone has better ideas on what could be a safe bet right now?

  3. A channel with comment box of their own bots.
    1) U best
    2) Journalist fact.
    3) Love from Mars
    4) Pooh Sariiii beautifool.

Seriously normal adults don't fall in love with newscasters..lol😅😅
The channel thinks people dumb wont pick up scam bots here

  4. The part where Palki Sharma said this and I am quoting it, "Saudi Arabia says that 90% of the beggars it arrested were from Pakistan. Now Pakistan already suffers from a poor Reputation Internationally. The Government keeps running around looking for Loans, from China, The International Monetary Fund and even the Gulf nations. So the Islamabad should take care not to Inspire its Citizen". This was one Epic of a statement. I burst into Laughter seeing this, Hats Off to you Palki Sharma.

  5. Does a woman in the throes of her monthly menstrual cycle feel just as healthy as when not menstruation? What does Roe V Wade not only represent; yet entail as well?
Are Gun Rights comparable with Gay Rights? If you believe in the Bottom Line; it could be , just so.
So, an unhealthy woman appears in each woman's life, in her mirror, once per month, she doesn't go away until the age of mid sixties. However, on a respectably dismal note this same unhealthy woman only hangs about for roughly one week before leaving. Only to return next month. This smells of dark magic and bad blood.
The men in our lives generally smell of urine and are all so lackluster because of it, each and every day.
I am Commissioner; I wish for optimal health.
    -Namaste

  6. Perhaps I should continue. Is Americas upcoming recession due to the foul play involving the Roe V Wade decision? Mental health standards effect everybody. Reverse standards is a poor slogan.
    -Commish

  7. Oscar Pestorious, or the guy who ran in the regular Olympics with one prosthetic leg. He then shot his girlfriend through the bathroom door in South African hotel. Where did his participation lead the world to believe the truth? He should have been allowed to run in the Paralympics; not the Olympics. People base their ideas of physical achievement and the embodiment of perfection upon what they see in professional athletic pursuit.
What happened to A. I. algorithms when Oscar Pestorious competed in Olympics? What happened when he shot his girlfriend; to that same algorithm?

  8. usually salaries were in the range between 50k and 100k for high paid jobs.
now lots of peope are earning well above 200 k earned a lot in last 10 years.
they dont know where to invest simply buying stocks on free money. they keep buying on small falls on every fall.

2% falls or 5% fall is not sell to many.. i would fall in the last 3 weeks not big sell off.
it should fall 20% on each day for couple of days that will be classfied as sell off

I think you are wasting your time on posting this video

  9. The USA hurts itself with its antiquated immigration policies. For instance, many highly skilled foreign graduates are forced to leave the USA each year because they cannot find a work permit sponsor within the short time window allowed for after their student visa expires. Meanwhile employers have their growth hampered by the lack of a qualified workforce. We seem to have things backwards.
