India surpasses Japan to become 3rd largest power in Asia power index

India has surpassed Japan to claim the third spot in the Asia Power Index, marking a significant shift in the Asia-Pacific’s geopolitical landscape. Launched by the Lowy Institute, the Index evaluates 27 countries using eight core measures. India saw a 4.2-point increase in economic capability, powered by solid GDP growth and its position as the third-largest economy in PPP terms. India’s active role in defence deals, such as the BrahMos missile agreement with the Philippines, shows its growing influence in regional security. Watch!
