As a Chinese individual, I’m really curious—why do Westerners always see us as the "Arch-Enemy" right off the bat, like we’re Sauron from The Lord of the Rings or something?
Why can’t we just work together for everyone’s benefit? The U.S. made tons of money from trading with China over the years, but in last few weeks their insecurity have blown it all up.
You can’t just try to "flip the table" and destroy free trade or globalization when you can’t take advantage of them anymore. The obsession with ideology and the fear that others will steal your “dominant position”—it leads to wrong assumptions, wrong assumptions lead to bad foreign policies, and that’s exactly how I view the mess Trump created.

Remember that one lady. Kamala? Yeah, we wouldn't be having this conversation if more people would have voted smarter. We would still have friends and allies in the world instead of trade wars with everyone. Not a single country in the world respects the US anymore, they don't trust the US, they don't want to do business with the US. We wouldn't be going another 6 trillion dollars in debt while most of that goes to people that are already billionaires. We wouldn't be worrying so much about our retirement. People believed the lies of a proven liar and convicted criminal and voted with their asshole instead of their head. So here we are.
