Finish Building NEW Crane Boom! | Franna Crane Project | Part 17

We’re making serious progress on the new boom section for our crane! We start by salvaging parts from the old boom before getting started on the brand new 6 meter RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section). But before installing the custom-built boom end we crafted and built in Part 16, we meticulously weld in all the necessary components like pulley mounts and guide block plates. The new boom end itself goes in smoothly, and then it’s time to lay down some serious welds. We weld the boom internally to the RHS and weld all the flat bar onto the main end plates. To finish things off, we tack weld flat bar to the top of the RHS, creating a barrier for the extension cable. This episode is packed with fabrication and welding, showcasing a fantastic upgrade for our Franna crane. Stay tuned for the next Franna crane project video or catch up on all the previous videos below 😎👇

  2. At this point Kurtis could probably build frenna‘s, if the company ever goes out of business. He is definitely a wizard at fabrication. Plus Karen’s video skills keep you engaged till the end and afterwards you’re just waiting for the new upload. Keep up the good work you’re killing it.

  3. 저는 한국인 입니다. 항상 당신의 영상을 즐겨 보고 있습니다. 정말 대단합니다. 특히 크레인 프로젝트를 좋아합니다. 항상 응원하겠습니다.

  4. It would be nice to see some drawings…. or a goal explained and showed in any way… And i get one goal – functioning crane. ) More detailed, please.

  5. Kurtis is actually a time traveler. He wrote the book on work ethic 800 years ago and is benevolent enough to have rejoined us here in the present (lol). But seriously, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see a video sometime discussing your mindset, motivation, and general approach to work. As a small time machinist and fabricator myself, I know enough to know that doing what you do day in and day out isn't easy, though you sure do make it look that way. Whenever I run out of steam I throw on one of your videos to recharge.

    Cheers from Pennsylvania

  6. I’m going to have to catch up on the videos I have missed. I didn’t expect him to be building a new boom. The way this is going it will be a scratch built new crane.

  7. i have only seen that precision cutting on one other channel IC weld. lots of practice. he is Literally building a crane. that is nuts…

  8. Kurtis is such a pro. I look at the stuff he does and think, "I'd have misread the measurements and torched that hole 10cm out of place in the boom section." Oh, and I'd spend half my life searching the workshop for tools and equipment rather than getting on with the job. I think one of the compelling things about this wonderful channel is that Kurtis does everything the way many of us would want to do it if only we had the skill and the confidence.

  9. Kurtis/Karen, that's to you both for the content you put out each week. Considering the mods that you've made, will you have to get the boom re-engineered?
