7 Stunning Toyota Probox Modified in Japan -Tokyo Auto Salon 2024

Here is the first of the modifications we will show you today, and by far the most serious off-road conversion of the good old Probox. Overland’s redesigned Probox comes with all new custom bumpers, the front one clearly reminiscent of those on a large off-road Toyota.
Excellent makeover, especially considering that the Probox is available as a 4WD version supplied by Toyota, this is a very welcome conversion. The significantly raised suspension has been built with TC Car Harmonics components, including revised control arms. Toyo Open Country A/T tyres for excellent off-road grip are mounted
On stunning 16-inch Crimson Golem aluminium wheels. Overall it looks great, finished in a blue Raptor hard protective paint, with a custom roof carrier plus extra lights. Another great-looking conversion is the RAVBOX, presented by NEXUS, a Japanese brand renowned for its visual upgrades to JDM cars.
The Probox has gained a lot of off-road character through simple and easy to fit add-ons. Starting with an upgraded front grille bearing the proud Toyota logo. On the sides, you will find adhesive plastic fender flares, resembling a bolt-on steel fender widening. Neat brand colour wrapping on the side rounds off the look.
Wheels not only look great but also offer good traction. Furthermore, Nexus has proposed functional upgrades such as a heavy duty roof rack, front bumper protector made from steel tube and extended cargo capacity by adding an auxiliary hitch carrier. All of this comes with upgraded suspension. Great looking and practical!
This Ride+Tech kit is designed for those looking for a small amount of modification to achieve that great sleek city look. It is a very clean design that uses a completely new front bumper that simply bolts on in place of the original Toyota one.
Adding a pair of good looking fog lights completes the look and feel of the Hilux. Original wheel size is retained, while the rims are replaced with nice alloy wheels with off-road tyres fitted to further enhance the overall character. Meet the retro-styled, off-road-ready Probox, built by TSD Styling / T-style Auto Sales.
Let us just say that this conversion ticks all the boxes for those looking for modern, reliable technology dressed up in a nostalgic classic look. A completely new front, with chrome details on the bumper reminiscent of Suzuki Samurai, vintage headlights and a good-looking unpainted radiator grille evoke positive sentiments.
At the back you will find the same flair except the rear lights bear the contemporary trendy style giving a retro futuristic look. On the side, you will find fender widenings and great-looking 15 inch Monza Hi-Block Jerrad wheels fitted with off-road tyres. Body has been lifted by 30 mm longer springs.
Everything is topped off by a character defining roof rack. Excellent vintage look, in particular considering that Probox is made by Toyota in three different configurations to suit all needs, starting from FWD one, AWD variant all the way to FWD Hybrid for superb fuel economy!
Here is another minimalist conversion that gives the Probox a tough look. Created by Stealth from Saitama near Tokyo. Modified elements are simply the front grille and add-on bull bar. On the back you will find a hitch mounted tray type cargo carrier and full LED tail lights.
Together with the raised suspension, you also get bigger wheels with off-road tyres. This is a simple and easy to achieve conversion that greatly enhances the appearance of the Probox. A very similar conversion by Play Box to the one previously presented, the main difference here is
That this grey matt painted Probox ditches the off-road look in favour of an American vintage style. The suspension has been dropped to give it a bit of a lowrider feel. Classic whitewall tyres are mounted on colour-matched 14 inch wheels. Smooth styling with a USA twist.
The final Probox modification that caught our eye was the Probox Ground by IFUU/STEALTH from Osaka. In terms of low rider flavour, this build is certainly one of the wildest. An evil look that mixes influences from the Japanese-tuning culture. Starting at the front, Toyota’s new bumper features a large signature lettering.
Things get darker with custom headlights and smoked taillights, all in LED. Lower suspension, sporty black decals combine well with all black wheels. White-striped tyres accentuate the stance. Stylish looking Probox, strongly resembling the GR version of the Hilux. We hope this short and exciting journey encourages you to customise your Probox.
