About Me 🙂
Originally born in India, I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I started learning Japanese at the age of 13 and have been teaching myself for 7+ years. I speak English, Japanese, and Telugu. I graduated from UC Berkeley Haas with a degree in business administration in hopes of connecting Japan and the U.S. through business.
I was working at Amazon in California and then moved to Tokyo to be the marketing lead at Woodstock.club. I recently shifted to being a full-time content creator as I start my business! I also love dogs and running hehe

Countless hrs and years, just like the gym most will quit, having a N1 doesn't mean you can conversate
I would recommend working through genki 1 and 2 before trying to “fully immerse”. Only because being surrounded by a language you can’t understand well is very mentally tiring. What do you think?
This video speaks to me on so many levels 😭 esp the plateau – that’s where I’m at now + losing sight of why I started learning Japanese in the first place. Hope to try HelloTalk and a few of the other apps you mentioned. I’m nowhere close to being super fluent but taking baby steps!
And what about ヒラガナとカタカナ?

It would be more awesome if you could paste other page of test results as well 😅
Anaya, if you ever find yourself in Osaka, please come to one of my meetups!
hey Anaya, what dramas and shows have you personally watched to help with your Japanese learning? would love to implement them in my studies as well, thank you!
The clock in the Background tells About how many retakes she tooked 😂
Ooh well… obviously if i pick all, i might even consider myself de@d dead before anything… thanks for that line at the end, because it practically impractical for me to follow in the same footsteps as yours but obviously i can have some takeaways from this… because obviously mine and your motives are different, and me and you are different, idk why but sometimes it takes some time to let that sink in… huh!
By watching this video learning english lol.
ohhhh amazing…. Your Japanese never sounds like a learner or foreigner 🤯
Thanks sis!!
japanese is hard as fuck and if you cant commit just quit. but it is nice to watch and liaten to japanese things that you can understand.
I’m Japanese who’s studying at graduate school in San Francisco.
I also nearly only listen to Japanese Music and Anime lol..
Ananya where is your India accent 😮
Is nobody gon talk about how good her English is? Indians dont get that accent

You have helped me so much❤

You look so pretty ❤
I've just seen you the other day on Takashii's channel when your getting interviewed about how you learn Japanese
Tokyo Shoseki need to hire you to do videos explaining English grammar to middle school students in their new textbook ✊🏻😭
I listen music in Japanese, watch Japanese content, and use a Japanese keyboard. 7 months in
HUH?!?
Tried to look up her suggestion of “Kee-you”.
Never found it.
Try communicating better, o.k.?
I started learning Japanese few months ago, and I truly admire anyone who has self-studied and reached fluency in this incredibly beautiful language. Well-done!
But the quality of life here japan is not good
Watching this entire thing is my toxic trait.
Skilllshare ad snuck in here, F.
All your talking points are so regurgitated by other people. No need to even make this video.
Does anyone have the @ for the gamer she mentioned in the beginning of the video?
Hi, thank u for sharing this video it was very helpful. Please upload more if you can/want to, that would be awesome as I am always seeking the best tips for learning Japanese. I wish to become as fluent as a Japanese but I don't know if that is achievable in a year. I do regret not taking this language more seriously when I was a teen as I would have been ahead but I geuss it is not too late. Anyways thank you for sharing this video😊
Your English accent
is also excellent being indian
