Toyota is still doing quite well financially. Surely it's not that much of a stretch for them to transition to EVs. They will have to sooner or later.
Lots of blacksmithing jobs were lost in the 1920s too.
Toyota is going to push for Hydrogen even though almost nobody wants it. I think if anyone can instantly switch to building EVs it's Toyota, so they could still recover.
When cars took over from horses millions of jobs were also lost. Just a thought, maybe the Japanese auto industry could make cars folk want, you know like inexpensive electric cars
Who's in charge of Toyota , IMHO , he's responsible to make sure there are Jobs for Japan or someone who can do the job should be considered !
Good. They have been living off us for years. They need to get real and build their own electric cars. They were not expecting it to take off.
As far as I feel sad for the jobs lost, having a sleazy car dealership as a middle man between the automotive industry and me, has been one of the most horrendous experiences I had in my life. So… Good riddance.
Because of stupid and incompetent management in legacy auto, millions of jobs may be lost in their companies, but made up elsewhere in the new technology.

EVs are far simpler than ICE and so of course there will be less jobs in the industry. Seriously, dude, sometimes I've no idea where you're coming from.
Funny thing. Lots of hybrid vehicles being sold in Australia at the moment. Seems to me the major producers are dumping them in Australia.
its the responsibility of leadership- ceo, politicians and ministers to plan, create and execute policies or transitional programs. Training etc. Improve the business. We cant be on fossil fuel forever. Its now or never.

And yet some people lie about EVs in support of ICE’s predatory industry.
Due to the invention of the combustion engine, lots of stables, blacksmiths, horsemen and farmers will be out of a job
Jobs were lost when bear baiting, badger baiting and the hunting of whales were banned….
I don't care. I rather have great cheap car than an automotive industry here
